<totebagel> Hi, stupid question is HKOSCON track taking place in HK or Taiwan? The COSCUP blog post states Taiwan
<totebagel> Also the HKOSCON website still advertises the 2022 event
<petertcdotchu> Yes, it will take place in HK. Thank you for asking! Our HK friends are still working on the website, but we need to plan it a little bit earlier since we need to handle flights and accommodations. (re @totebagel: Also the HKOSCON website still advertises the 2022 event)
<totebagel> Great, thanks for the reply. Is it possible to submit the same talk to both conferences?
<Henry> There will be a HKOSCon track in COSCUP at Taiwan. And this year’s HKOSCon 2023 will be at early June in HKSTP, Hong Kong:
<Henry> (Sorry about the hkoscon.org landing page redirection. Organizing committee is still working on this year’s website and also the domain redirection issue) (re @totebagel: Also the HKOSCON website still advertises the 2022 event)
<petertcdotchu> definitely (re @totebagel: Great, thanks for the reply. Is it possible to submit the same talk to both conferences?)
<Henry> Oh… seems the whole case is a bit complicated and many issue mixed up.
<Henry> * This year’s HKOSCon will be in Hong Kong and COSCUP will be in Taipei.
<Henry> * There will be some kind of “track exchange” in both conference.
<Henry> * there will be talk from COSCUP in HKOSCon(COSCUP track) and there will talk from HKOSCon in COSCUP(HKOSCon track) (re @totebagel: )
<Henry> Yes. HKOSCon is still welcome for talk submissions. (re @totebagel: Great, thanks for the reply. Is it possible to submit the same talk to both conferences?)

<totebagel> *in HKOSCON in person early June, to leave no place for misunderstanding
<Henry> Or you you could also summit it to HKOSCon directly. (Vetting is performed by different team so selection criteria could be different) (re @totebagel: Thanks for clarifying. So what I understand from the above is that if my talk is accepted in COSCUP and I want to give *the same talk* in HKOSCON, that would be part of HKOSCON's COSCUP track, and I should apply via

<totebagel> Okay. What is the link for that please?
<Henry> (Sorry that use the broken domain in previous message. Here is the page. Also update link in previous message) (re @totebagel: Okay. What is the link for that please?)
<totebagel> Henry thanks a lot! 👍
